Since I have such a problem with my water consumption all throughout the Million Pound Match-up, I've decided to start a ticker showing the amount of water that I consume. I have it set for the next 108 days before I go away to Jamaica. So let's see if I can drink 8 cups of water a day.

My Story

I've been overweight pretty much the majority of my life ever since about the age of 7. Then as the years went on, I got bigger and bigger until I got to my highest weight of 291 pounds. I remember the first time that I joined weight watchers with my mother, I had to be about 11 or 12. And to this day, I remember that I had weighed 136 pounds!!! I keep saying to myself, if I had only continued watching my weight at that point, I still might have been 136 pounds and the perfect weight for my height right now!!! How nice would that have been. I wouldn't be going through this stuggle. After weight watchers, I tried many other diets through the years from taking diet pills, Atkins, Medifast, and Slimfast among others. All of them actually seemed to work to a certain extent, however, as everyone knows, after a few weeks, you tend to just give up and go back to the food that you had missed while you were depriving yourself of them while trying to lose weight. At this point in my life, I am not following any type of diet because honestly, with everything I have been through with the dieting scene, I don't really need to follow one particular diet. I know what I should be eating and that is what I have been doing. I follow a 1200 calorie diet a day, occasionally upping my intake depend on that particular day. I try to get my exercise in, which I know will play an important part of my weight loss journey. This time, my diet is different then all other times that I have actually started one. I finally said to myself, this has to end. With the ups and downs of dieting, going back and forth on the scale, I'm getting tired of it and I finally want to get to my goal weight and end this battle. I know that the battle will really never end because even when I get to my goal weight, I will still have to continue to watch my weight and my intake of food. Right now I am down a significant number from my highest weight and I NEVER want to get to that place again. I WILL succeed this time!!!!

Week 16 Weigh In

Woooo Hoooooo.  I have to say that this week's weigh in was actually pretty good.  I ended up losing 2 more pounds this week and I'm down to 219!  I'm actually in the teens!!!  I can't even remember the last time I can say that I'm in the teens!  It's a good feeling.  I've been eating decent, not the greatest, but I haven't been cheating.  I think it's a little over the portions that I should be eating, but I continue to eat healthy and I guess it's paying off.  I'm down 39.5 pounds.  Next week I'm hoping to break the 40 pound mark.  I haven't been updating my food diary on this site, I've just been too busy, but hopefully I will get going on it again soon.  I've continued walking with my sister as much as possible at night.  Good Luck to everyone!  Until next week~

Week 15 Weigh In

Update from my weigh in on Wednesday, I'm down to 221 pounds for a total of 37.5 from the beginning of the year!  This week I lost another two pounds.  I've been trying to continue this journey, which I do want to finish, however, it's gotten harden ever since the contest at my job and the Million Pound Match up ended.  I have to keep realizing that I'm not gonna lose all the weight over night.  It's a slow process.  But sometimes it gets fustrating, but I've been trying to stay focused.  During the week, I try to walk during lunch at work every day and in the evenings.  I will try to continue that.  Well, this is just a short blog to keep everyone updated!  Good Luck to everyone continuing on this journey!

Week 14 Weigh In

Hi All!  It's been a while since I last blogged.  I've been pretty busy with everything in my life and I've had a cold for a while so haven't really had time to sit down and write a blog.  But here I am!  Last week I had gained 2 pounds from being down in Florida which wasn't too bad, it could have been a lot worse.  Today, I weighed in again and lost 1.5 pounds this week.  So now I am only .5 pound up from before I went to Florida.  I'm continuing with this journey.  I just finished walking during my lunch break at work.  It's actually beautiful out today in NY, about 70, so I decided to take advantage of the weather and go for a nice long walk.  Well, just checkin in to let everyone know that I haven't given up and I'm still here!

Trip to Florida

Well, I'm back from my mini vacation in Florida for my friend's wedding.  Thursday when I got there I was so gung ho to actually continue this diet.  I even went to the gym at the hotel and worked out for about an hour, ate good and had no problems.  Then Friday came and it was ALL downhill from there.  I had Checkers one day and then finger foods at the rehearsal dinner and then the wedding, which wasn't too bad with the eating, but the drinking is what caused the down fall.  Even tho, I didn't eat good, I had a great time and I guess sometimes you just have to go off and enjoy yourself even tho your going to have to get right back into it after you get back from the vacation.  I haven't checked out the damage on a scale yet, I figure I would wait until my weigh in to see how everything went.  I did alot of walking since the hotel was so big, so I'm hoping that will help me with my weigh in on Wednesday.  I'm gonna post some up to date pictures from this week which should show my 36 pound weight loss so far.  But I'm letting everyone know that I jumped right back into eating right this morning and will continue until I get to my goal weight!!!GroupHPIM0142HPIM0230HPIM0238Joey&Lisa4

Week 12

Today was my 12th weigh in and also the end of "The Biggest Loser" competition at my job.  I'm happy to tell you that I lost 3.5 pounds this week for a total of 36 pounds in 12 weeks and that was enough to win the competition!!!!!  The girl that was in 2nd place ended up only losing 1.5 pounds.  It was such a relief after I won.  I worked so hard all week, afraid that this girl in 2nd place was going to pull a really really high number.  But everything worked out in the end.  Tomorrow I go to Florida with the winnings from the contest and it's good to know that I have extra money now!  Sorry I haven't written in a while or updated my food diary, just been really busy.  I will update my pics after I get back from Florida!
